Parkmerced a 191.5 acre site designed by Leonard Schultze, Thomas Dolliver Church + Robert Royston. The Modern landscape & apartment community developed by Met-Life in the 1940's was to provide affordable rental housing + open space. Proposals of density + development, threaten the landscape design neglected by prior owners + shrunken by subtle sales of blocks. The integrity of the landscape design, radiates utilitarianism, simplicity, + beauty.
